It's back already! Allergy season is here and she's not taking any prisoners. This is a post from Winter that we're republishing:
This morning I woke up to the sound of my alarm going off, the same as I do every morning, but today was different. When I picked up my phone to turn the alarm off thinking it was 8:30 it was actually nearly 1pm.
I rushed out of bed and into the shower. I hadn't even hit the snooze button. I slept straight through the awful sound of my alarm for almost 3 hours. Needless to say, I was very late to work today. Thankfully Dr.G is the best person in the world to work for and I still have a job.
That is when I remembered that last night my eyes had been watering uncontrollably and started itching right before I went to sleep. Allergies are no joke! They can knock you on your butt.
If you have read any of my other blogs, you know that I am allergic to everything, so I'm no match for seasonal allergies. When my allergies come back I feel like I have the flu. I get achey and feel exhausted. I also have the common symptoms too, burning itchy eyes, sneezing, caughing, itchy throat, etc.
I am lucky, but many people have jobs that wouldn't be so understanding of showing up hours late because you have allergies. I get two rounds of allergies a year and still forget each season how much they affect me. When people think of allergies the symptoms that go further than itchiness often go ignored.
If you are suffering already from allergies or you know you will be soon there ARE healthy ways to help.
