Ozone treatments for Allergies - Second Nature Care

Tis the season to be sneezin. I have a remarkable clinical story to share . . .

Let's get the stats out of the way. More than 50 million people in the US have allergies. Allergy treatments cost us 11 billion in the US. CVS, Walgreens and big box stores are selling out of Zyrtec, Sudafed and several over-the-counter meds that reduce congestion, but cause drowsiness.  Most people I know can't work after they have taken these meds. These medications can affect heart rate and do not address the underlying root cause.

Worldwide, allergies affect about 30% of adults and 40% of children.

I test for all types of allergic reactions - Type I immediate or acute hypersensitivity or IgE antibodies, Type II associated with autoimmune conditions, Type III associated with infections, drug reactions, autoimmune reactions and Type IV delayed reactions like in poison ivy, contact dermatitis and chronic granulomas.

The best policy is to avoid known allergens. If you have a diagnosed food or environmental allergen avoid them when possible. I micromanage patient's gut health to reduce their number of allergies. My top nutraceutical recommendations are Xymogen's GlutAloeMine, AllerDHQ, NAC, HistDao, Xcellent E-HG-400, Xcellent C, Omega 820 and ProbioMax DF.

Omega 3 fatty acids, onions, and berries in your diet can reduce the risk of inflammation. Eliminate sugar, wheat, corn and dairy to get relief from allergy symptoms.

I had a patient who has been recommended to get full nasal septum surgery to repair damaged structures that cause chronic sinus infections. Prescribed antibiotics on several occasions, he called me because the antibiotics were wrecking havoc with his gut and his nasal discharge was still green after several rounds of medication.

He came to the Piermont office and looked miserable. He has some unique occupational exposures to metals, fumes and pathogens because he is an elevator mechanic for a large institution. I increased his NAC right away and prescribed some sublingual immunotherapy formulas to reduce the swelling, address eye complaints and cleanse the blood of pathogens.

He did a long 45 minute ozone inhalation session.  I did a prescribed injection of mild anesthesia and ozone above his canine teeth and gum line into the soft tissues.  This is the ozone treatment for sinus infections as per Dr. Schallenberger.

Patient returned the following week and was significantly better. We will repeat the injection treatment again so the patient will be clear of infection.  He wants to buy some time before deciding on major nasal reconstruction surgery.

Ozone therapy can address acute conditions and chronic infections.  It can alleviate persistent annoying symptoms and eliminate pain from infections. It is proactive and creates space for the patient to review all of their treatment options.
