Does this picture disturb you? Are cell phones safe for children? Do the electromagnetic fields affect brain development? The largest world study is being launched in London to answer those questions. "The Study of Cognition, Adolescents and Mobile Phones, or SCAMP, project will focus on cognitive functions such as memory and attention, which continue to develop into adolescence - just the age when teenagers start to own and use personal phones."
I think developing brains are more vulnerable and you don't need a doctor's degree to know that and younger users will have higher lifetime exposures. Most research in this area has focused on adults. I recently had a post-surgical chemo breast cancer patient who knows that her breast cancer was related to keeping her cell phone in her breast pocket while she performed massages all day. You can feel the heat from the transmitter when you hold your own phone. Those fields change our cellular signaling. If you are predisposed to cancer - "genetics is the smoking gun and environment pulls the trigger."
There are 4.6 billion cell phone subscribers globally. 70 percent of British 11-12 year olds own a mobile phone. 90 percent own by age 14. The International Agency for Research on Cancer classified mobile phones as "possibly carcinogenic to humans." That is good enough for me
The study will focus on cognitive abilities - making decisions, processing and recall of information. Mobile technology is here to stay and growing every day. The SCAMP study will hopefully provide evidence so parents can make informed choices.
In the meantime, I recommend children, teens and adults to take DFH's EMF Protect daily. This formula is designed to reduce the negative health effects from modern technology. Turn off all digital equipment and unplug everything before you go to bed. We carry specialized LIQUID homeopathatic medicine for young children for electromagnetic field exposures.
