Your morning routine could be helping you to live longer.

Don't get too excited, but coffee might actual help you to live longer! Thanks science. I might live forever with all the coffee I drink.

A large study focused on how coffee consumption was associated with telomere length. A telomere is the structure at the end of a chromosome and plays a major role in the lifespan of cells. The study discovered that higher coffee consumption is associated with longer telomeres.

A group of over 4000 women were analyzed. The information pertaining to coffee consumption was self-reported using food-frequency questionnaires. The relative telomere length was measured in peripheral blood leukocytes.

So go for the extra cup of Joe! Coffee even has cancer prevention properties, decreasing the risk of liver cancer and Parkinson's..

Coffee was also found to lower the levels of serum uric acid associated with gout.  This could be beneficial to person's living with Gout. Gout forms when people have high levels of uric acid in the blood. Gout can be a primary disease due to an overproduction or underexcretion of uric acid or it can be a secondary condition to another disease. Gout is usually associated with high levels of uric acid, but not all gout attacks are triggered by a specific level of uric acid.  The trigger is when there are acute changes in the level of uric acid. Gout is an independent risk factor for cardiovascular events because of the inflammation associated with it.

You are also protecting yourself against type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, liver disease, prostate cancer, and Parkinson’s disease. According to the 2015 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Report about 3-5 cups of coffee per day can be healthy. However, do be mindful of the artificial sweeteners and flavoring. The chemicals take away from the healing properties of coffee.

Try to drink coffee in its natural state of perfection. My coffee order used to be  a "large french vanilla iced coffee extra light extra sweet" and now that I've switched to black I can not even imagine having all of that in my coffee ever again. Now the most excitement my coffee is a some espresso here and there.

If you absolutely cannot have your coffee black try out unsweetened hemp, almond or coconut milk. This will add some non-dairy protein milk without removing coffee's natural healing aspects.

We test the length of your telomeres in CT.

For those of you who don't drink coffee

Dr. G. -recommends Xymogen's Mitochondrial Renewal to lengthen your telomeres. Other liver supports are MedCapsDPO or LipoTropiX and Liver Protect. Protect your liver and you will live a longer and healthier life. The liver is our only organ that can regenerate fully. Order Xymogen
