Cooking away Cancer.

More fascinating research is coming out of the University of Buffalo.  The researchers have developed a new kind of nanoparticle that can infiltrate, heat up and kill cancer cells more efficiently then similar methods.

The use of nanoparticles to fight cancer has become a growing area of research. The concept is to get the particles into tumors before activating them with radiation; triggering a reaction that destroys the cancer cells without harming healthy tissue. The type of nanoparticle used can vary, as can the type of reaction triggered. (Irving, 2018)

The technique used in this study is known as magnetic nanoparticle hyperthermia.  Magnetic nanoparticles are introduced into tumor cells before alternating magnetic field is applied to the area.  The particle then flips back and forth hundreds of thousands of times per second heating them up to a point of destroying the cancer cells i.e. frying the cancer cells.

While the procedure is not new, the Buffalo study has boosted the effectiveness of this treatment with creating these nanoparticles to react strongly with relatively low-strength magnetic fields.

The team created two types of these nanoparticles, one made of manganese cobalt ferrite and the other of zinc ferrite. Of the two, the zinc particles fared much better, heating up efficiently even under an ultra-low magnetic field. (Irving, 2018)

Magnetic nanoparticle hyperthermia is minimally invasive and should produce few harmful side effects. It also overcomes one of the major hurdles of nanoparticle treatments activated by light – namely, the magnetic field can penetrate far deeper into the body, whereas light can only attack cancers close to the surface of the skin.

The researchers believe that one of the first applications for the new treatment could be bone cancer.  The zinc ferrite nanoparticles can be embedded into bone cement. "If we introduce our nanoparticles into the bone cement, they can be heated on demand to kill any tumor cells that remain nearby, and help prevent recurrence of the cancer," says Zeng the lead researcher on the study.

"To test the idea, the team added magnetic particles to bone cement and injected that into a pork rib. Sure enough, the technique worked to heat up the bone to temperatures that could kill cancer cells." (Irving, 2018)

Since "cooking away cancer" was a bit misleading, here's a recipe to fix it! Jam packed with garlic which was found to significantly reduce the size and number of colon adenomas!

Everyone loves a good dip. Try this one out, it's even gluten free. This warm, gooey, cheesy dip will be a hit at any party. You can buy dairy-free Kite Hill artisinal cheese that closely resembles regular brie.

Baked Brie and Garlic Dip

  • 13.2 Ounce Package of Brie Cheese, Rind Removed and Cubed.
  • 3 Cloves of Garlic, Finely Chopped.
  • 2 Teaspoons Fresh Rosemary, Chopped.
  • 1 Tablespoon of Dried Thyme.
  • Olive Oil For Drizzling.
  • Salt and Pepper to Taste.
  • 8" Cast iron skillet

First preheat your oven to 375 degrees.Cube the cheese and place it into your pan. Drizzle a bit of olive oil on top. Chop up the garlic and rosemary and put together in a measuring cup, drizzle olive oil on top of the mix. Sprinkle the contents of your measuring cup over the brie cheese. Place skillet in the preheated oven for about 6-8 minutes until the cheese is completely melted and bubbling. Enjoy!

If you are already suffering with colon or any other type of cancer you may have alternative options here at Second Nature Care. We offer safe and effective Ozone therapy.
