Groundbreaking Trial for Promising ALS Drug

Groundbreaking clinical trial for new ALS drug.

ALS is a disease that rapidly kills brain cells in charge of muscle control and usually claims the lives of patients in only a few years. But now, a new drug developed by a team of scientists in Australia has shown promise. In a Phase 1 clinical trial the drug improved symptoms and slowed down the progression of the disease.

Work creating the drug, known as CuATSM started about 15 years ago. It was originally thought that an excess of copper in the brain was the problem, but these researchers realized it might be the opposite. "The initial focus of our work was on Alzheimer's disease where it was thought that copper drove the formation of amyloid plaques," Professor Kevin Barnham, co-developer of CuATSM said back in 2017. "We reasoned if you could just remove this copper you could eliminate plaques, and you'd have the solution. Then we thought, perhaps it's the other way around? Maybe cells are expelling the copper and so we've actually got a situation of copper deficiency. So, what happens if you deliver the copper back?" (Irving, 2019)

CuATSM is a compound that can penetrate the blood-brain barrier and deliver copper to the cells that need it. It was found that the participants in the trial who received the highest dose regained some lung function and cognitive ability and the over all progression was found to be much slower. Phase 2 of the study is set to begin later this year.

we can all practice ALS prevention with our daily diet. Even when you have a less than perfect diet - you can take high quality nutrients from Xymogen. I recommend Xymogen's Daily Dose Pack of ActivEssentials (in powder or cap form), AngioNox to increase Nitric Oxide so your circulatory, immune and nervous system cells can communicate, ALAmax CR whole body multifunctional antioxidant, NAC - precursor of glutathione for detoxification and Nrf2 Activator master regulator of antioxidant pathways. We offer I.V. therapies that contain major antioxidants for complete absorption. Your treatment is individualized with injectable German medicines of  specific formulas for ALS. I.V. Ozone and Ozone Chelation are both indicated for the treatment of ALS. Stop the progression of ALS with Ozone.
