Prediabetes Significantly Increases Cancer Risks

Prediabetes even at the lowest levels is associated with a significant increased risk for cancers. This is an independent risk factor not associated with obesity and obesity's subsequent health risks. What is the increased risk factor in numbers?

In a large meta-analysis study, Chinese researchers found a 15% increased risk for all cancers with differing risks depending on the type of cancer.  Liver, stomach and colorectal cancers were the highest.

It is estimated that 56 million Americans have undiagnosed prediabetes. We offer prediabetic testing and promote permanent lifestyle changes to reverse the numbers. I test every patient for prediabetes, diabetes, metabolic syndrome and insulin resistance. Yes, it's that important.

Think of all of the cancers we could prevent with that simple first step of testing your blood sugar levels.

Site-specific cancer in prediabetics was highest for liver cancer, followed by colorectal and stomach cancers, endometrial cancer, breast and lastly pancreatic cancer. These are significant and sometimes difficult cancers to reverse. Thankfully, my cancer care patients are doing exceedingly well.

I read a Medscape article about alternative cancer treatments where the "experts" deny that removing sugar from the diet of a patient with cancer would be prudent and part of a standard treatment protocol. They say that the removal of sugar from the diet is unverified. What utter horse poop!

What is the relationship between sugar and cancer?

Sugar creates chronic oxidative stress which produces advanced glycated end products. Advanced glycated end products are carcinogenic. Increased insulin resistance, a part of prediabetes, increases insulin secretion and increased insulin levels promote the growth of cancer cells.

Are you taking Metformin? We have a nutraceutical that can match Metformin's positive capabilites. Second Nature patients with prediabetes and diabetes take Xymogen's ALAmax Protectâ„¢ designed to help support cardiometabolic health. It delivers both alpha-lipoic acid (ALA) and the plant alkaloid berberine in one convenient formula. These ingredients have been observed to support insulin activity and glucose metabolism. More recent research also suggests a role for berberine in supporting normal A1C levels.Call to Get Started Today!
