Putting the Pieces Together for Parkinson's

Missing puzzle piece found in the risk developing of Parkinson's.

Parkinson's is a combination of genetic and environmental exposures that usually hits people over age 60. Neurologists look for loss of pigmentation of the substantia nigra and the presence of Lewy bodies in the early stages of the disease to make the diagnosis. When the substantia nigra is damaged that causes striatal dopamine deficiency which causes resting tremors, rigidity, postural instability and a slow shuffling walk.

Hepatitis could possibly be a new puzzle piece in the causes of Parkinson's disease. Specifically, the Hepatitis C virus causing an increased risk of development of Parkinson's.

More research is being conducted to further examine the link between the two. Studies focused on determining if Hepatitis B had this effect, but it came back negative. Significant data supports Hepatitis C could lead to Parkinson's disease.

People who have Hepatitis B or even Hepatitis B and C were no more or less likely to develop Parkinson's than a person without any type of hepatitis virus. Those with solely the Hepatitis C virus are at a much greater risk.

At Second Nature Care we can test you for the virus and aid in treatment. We also test for Herpes 6 and elevated heavy metals with an eye on mercury.

For hepatitis C we use safe and effective I.V Ozone treatment.

The gut is where I begin treatment. We remove all gluten, most grains, sugar and dairy out of the diet. Processed carbohydrates aggravate SIBO and don't allow leaky gut mucosa to heal properly. High-protein foods block the absorption of the main Parkinson's medications - Levadopa or L-dopa which affects their efficacy.

At Second Nature Care we understand the impact that all of these factors have on your health. We have excellent treatment protocols for Parkinson's.

Because of poor gut function I strongly recommend I.V. therapies. Ozone chelation and I.V. glutathione both improve function while we are healing the gut with L-glutamine, fish oils, NAC, turmeric, probiotics, gelatin, phosphatidyl choline and resveratrol.

This is the year to find your total body burden at Second Nature Care.
