Women live longer and they are hit harder by stroke which is the third leading cause of death in women. We are all trained to act emergently when someone is having a heart attack to save the heart muscle and we need to do the same with a brain attack to save brain tissue.  In honor of my mother who died of a stroke, I would like to remind my readers about the signs of stroke.

  • Sudden one-sided weakness or numbness of the face or limb
  • Difficult speaking or understanding speech - ask the person to say their name or smile
  • Sudden severe headache - is this a really bad headache that came out of nowhere?
  • Unexplained dizziness
  • Sudden loss of some vision
A quick acronym to remember - FAST
FAST stands for face droop, arm weakness, speech difficulty and time to call 911

We test patients for MTHFR differences, blood viscosity, and particle size to get a better understanding of your risk for stroke.  Elevated lead is linked to increased risk for stroke.  It is important to test your heavy metal status each year so we can work on reducing your total body burden.

We recommend a protection plan against stroke with protective brain nutraceuticals like:  Xymogen's 5-MTHF, Brain Sustain, Resveratin or Nattokinase.
