The Cure For Cancer is Inside You - Immune System, Good Gut, I.V. Ozone

 

 The cure for cancer is within us. The cure for cancer may be our own immune systems. Scientists have found the "trick" may be to give it a boost. A new hydrogel has been developed that can be injected directly into the site of a tumor, where it stays and slowly releases immunotherapy drugs for longer.

Immunotherapy "puts the odds back in your favor" by arming the immune system with the strength it needs to detect and kill cancer cells. This is done mainly by extracting a patient's T-cells and genetically engineering them to attack tumors and returns them to the body. Others may be able to stimulate the system with a single injection, akin to a cancer vaccine. (Irving, 2018)

The type of drugs sometimes used are called cyclic dinucleotides and are administered through a simple injection.  The problem arises when the drugs end up circulating through the body, diminishing in concentration at the tumor site and ultimately being flushed out of the body fairly quickly. In a new at study conducted at Rice University and the University of Texas Health Science Center researchers discovered how to keep the drug in the right spot longer. "Rather than being contained in a liquid solution, the CDNs are loaded onto self-assembling multidomain peptide (MDP) hydrogels. These start off in a liquid form for injection, but once inside the body they quickly turn semi-solid, before degrading slowly over time. In the process, they release their cancer-killing CDNs more gradually and precisely. The team calls their creation STINGel." (Irving, 2018)
