Citric Acid Cycle Catalysts in Greater Detail

The contribution of homotoxicology to the progress of medicine has been pivotal because it links homeopathic concepts and laws to modern scientific knowledge. Dr. Reckeweg’s starting point was the study of homeopathic materia medica, but he enriched and added to it in various ways and on various levels.

Therapeutic approaches

"An original and essential contribution resulted from the great attention paid to the study of the cell, which Reckeweg defined as the primary and fundamental element in which disease originates.

An energy deficiency in the cell causes it to dysfunction, and an individual cell dysfunction is the start of a more complex pathology, which inevitably becomes an organic disorder.

When it enters a crisis, the cellular energy plant (i.e., the mitochondrion) begins to lack energy for any biochemical cellular process; in particular, the proteins, enzymes, and cytokines which are fundamental to the life of a specialized cell are not synthesized.

A cell that is lacking energy reduces its function to a minimum, uses large quantities of glucose via a metabolic route that does not require oxygen, pollutes the surrounding connective tissue, and progressively assumes the characteristics of a neoplastic cell.

This whole sequence of events which leads from normal physiology to dysfunction, to degeneration, and eventually to neoplasia, is initiated in the mitochondrion and, more specifically, in that sequence of oxidative reactions involved in pyruvic acid catabolism and ATP production.

It is clear how important it is to keep this sequence of key biochemical reactions as efficient as possible for both the catabolic and anabolic aspects of cell function.

Patients with chronic degenerative diseases, which are those we encounter most frequently today in our natural medicine clinics, primarily need specific, selective stimulation of the citric acid cycle. Treatment with intermediary catalysts in a dilute, dynamized form offers an exceptional therapeutic opportunity in this domain.

The patient is assessed and, if this shows that he is in one of the cellular phases of the homotoxicology table, total stimulation of the citric acid cycle must be carried out, either by the administration of Coenzyme compositum or the individual catalysts if they are available.

If we consider that the organism often uses the building blocks of the citric acid cycle via many other metabolic pathways, it is clear that deficiencies of substances at various levels will tend to block the cycle once again. It is therefore useful to start therapy to support the citric acid cycle with Coenzyme compositum, at the rate of one ampoule sublingually or by injection 1 to 3 times weekly.

Children, in whom the citric acid cycle has presumably not reached a block as in adults or in chronically ill patients, can obviously start directly with the catalysts providing energy and a reactive stimulus to the organism. Although this is the best general strategy for using the citric acid cycle catalysts, it is also useful to be familiar with the role and consequently the clinical indications of the individual catalysts."

This is what I teach and practice. Pairing I.V. Ozone MAH with these German Biologics. We rebuild the immune system and repair damaged mitochondria to reverse chronic disease patterns.

Almost half of the U.S. adult population is obese. Obesity can result from diet, lack of physical activity, socioeconomic factors, genetics, and even chemicals in the environment. Low level exposure to obesogenic chemicals, found in food, water, air, etc., contributes to obesity, and can also affect hormone activity, metabolism, and fat cell formation. The main chemicals include: BPA, phthalates, PBDEs, PFCs, OC pesticides, and PCBs.

Women have a greater chance of having chronic illness like anxiety and depression, chronic fatigue, etc., than men. This “gender gap” results from both “biological and social factors.” It was also found that illnesses predominantly found in female patients are often misdiagnosed as chronic Lyme disease. This article aims to explore how women with these chronic illnesses, especially those diagnosed with Lyme disease, can be treated in accordance to the patient’s menstrual cycle and/or phase of life.

Do you have chronic fatigue syndrome? This is characterized by incapacitating fatigue, massive energy crashes after minor exertion, joint pain, muscle aches, brain fog, difficulty getting to sleep and or waking up around 2-3 am, feeling tired and wired and assorted other neurological, autonomic nervous system dysregulation and abnormal immune markers in your labs. You could be exhausted for days or weeks.

Do you have Leaky Skin?

While leaky gut has become a well known term, leaky skin is worthy of some attention, especially in these times of frequent hand washing and use of hand sanitizers. Leaky skin is connected to leaky gut and often times leaky gut first presents as skin issues. Leaky skin is not as effective as healthy skin at keeping allergens out. You can have leaky skin allergens cross the epithelial barrier and trigger an immune response. Leaky skin also makes it more likely to absorb potentially hazardous chemicals, which might cause reactions in the skin or systemic toxicity. Conventional treatments for atopic dermatitis often miss addressing the the underlying causes, and lead to overzealous hygiene routines which worsen the issues. Antibiotic prescriptions are also common in dermatology, and excessive use has created the emergence of "superbugs". With a naturopathic approach to atopic dermatitis, we want to support a healthy microbiome and restore skin hydration and Ph to improve skin barrier function. We recommend a few good companies who make non-toxic skin care products.

Is it possible to cure the condition of cognitive fragility which, in increasing percentages, affects the elderly population with a non-pharmacological therapy, at low cost, without side effects?
“The answer is yes”. According to doctors and professors Catia Scassellati et al, it is possible to answer this question in the affirmative.
The solution is in the practice of oxygen ozone therapy, which is able to “modulate the immune, inflammatory, oxidant, metabolic, endocrine, microbiotic and regenerative processes altered in cognitive fragility” and which “could represent a convenient and economical single intervention, functioning in the absence of side effects”.
Their solution was illustrated in a well-documented study published by the journal Mechanisms of Aging and Development.
The study cited explains that, in the last decade, cognitive fragility has gained great attention from the scientific community. Although several treatments are available, problems persist regarding both the effectiveness and costs of treatment.
For this reason, the authors of the study propose oxygen ozone therapy which, in an economical and efficient way, could modulate the immune, inflammatory, oxidizing, metabolic, endocrine, microbiota and regenerative processes compromised in cognitive fragility.
Positive Effects of Ozone Therapy
The positive effects of ozone are mainly attributed to the activation of the immune and anti-inflammatory systems, to the upregulation of cellular antioxidant enzyme activity, to the improvement of the release of growth factors from platelets, to enhanced blood circulation and to the the consequent better delivery of O2 to the tissues. This leads to an enhanced overall metabolism.
The study emphasizes that oxygen-ozone therapy “acquires significant value due to its well-known and widely demonstrated ability to cure a broad spectrum of diseases: cardiovascular (coronary artery disease); metabolic (diabetes, hyperglycemia); respiratory (emphysema, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease); neurodegenerative (Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease); digestive disease (steatosis, non-alcoholic steatohepatitis, cirrhosis)”.
An increasing number of clinical studies have highlighted the efficacy of oxygen ozone therapy in the treatment of cardiovascular, peripheral vascular, neurological, degenerative, orthopedic, gastrointestinal and genitourinary diseases, as well as in the treatment of multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia, skin diseases, wounds, ulcers from diabetes, infectious diseases, lung diseases, osteomyelitis.
Citing the huge bibliography available, the authors emphasize that “oxygen ozone therapy is a non-invasive, non-pharmacological and side-effect-free procedure applied in medicine for the treatment of over 50 different diseases”.
In this regard, the authors of the study recall that in 2016 the Italian Ministry of Health approved a project (RF 2016-02363298) aimed at testing the effectiveness of oxygen ozone therapy in the treatment of cognitive fragility.
The authors conclude by stating that “while being aware that further studies are needed, this review reports substantial scientific evidence to build a rationale for the use of oxygen ozone therapy in an early stage of cognitive decline, when it is still possible to intervene before a potential neurodegenerative pathology”.
To date, cognitive frailty is considered a geriatric condition characterized by the coexistence of a condition of physical frailty with a specific degree of cognitive impairment.
In 2006, “cognitive fragility” was indicated as a clinical label for a particular vulnerable state in mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and other similar clinical entities exposed to vascular risk factors, resulting in increased progression to dementia.
Since 2007, frailty has also been considered in its biological and psychosocial aspects. In this case, the frailty index represents a measure of the general decline in health associated with age, due to the accumulation of health-related deficits.
In 2013 a common consensus was reached on the definition of “cognitive frailty” thanks to the International Academy of Nutrition and Aging (IANA) and the International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics (IAGG).
The authors of the study are all Italian. Doctors Scassellati, Ciani, Zanardini, Bonvicini and Geroldi work and teach at the Biological Psychiatry Unit, Molecular Marker Laboratory, Alzheimer Unit of the IRCCS Istituto Centro San Giovanni di Dio Fatebenefratelli in Brescia. Dr. Galoforo, among his many professional positions, is a member of the board of the SIOOT (Scientific Society of Oxygen Ozone Therapy) and lecturer at the Master in Ozone Therapy at the University of Pavia.
