Your Teeth and Pneumonia - The Flu Vaccine is Here!

Routine dental visits can decrease risk of pneumonia.

Maintaining your oral microbiome is as important as maintaining the rest of your body.

Regular dental checkups appear to cut the risk of developing bacterial pneumonia. A recent study found that people who never get a checkup have almost twice the risk of developing bacterial pneumonia than those who see their dentist at least twice a year.

This finding was built off of recent studies that found a link between dental care and pneumonia in critically ill patients.

Bacterial pneumonia is very serious and associated with significant morbidity and mortality.

A recent analysis of over 26,000 participants studied the differences between those who contracted pneumonia and those who did not. The study found that the groups most significantly affected were most likely to be white and older with an average age of 47, more likely to have comorbities and cognitive limitations, and less likely to have dental insurance. I.V. Ozone is quick, easy and kills the pathogens. I.V. ozone is a safe and effective way to knock out infections. It is a great preventative measure to be taken as well. Many progressive dentists integrate ozone therapy.

We have our yearly flu vaccine in and we carry the pneumonia nosode too.  These vaccines have higher efficacy than the standard flu shot and they are eggless and free of methyl mercury, aluminum and formaldehyde. Safe for ages two and up to over a hundred. Our patients have been using these oral immunotherapies for the past 15 years without any side effects including: patients with cancer and transplant patients.

Taking the best care of your oral microbiome possible is incredibly important. Regular dental cleanings and standard daily hygiene procedure is necessary, thorough brushing and flossing is imperative . Diet is also important and a reduced intake of sugars helps to maintain a more alkaline environment.

All I.V. therapies are MD ordered and RN/NP administered in NYS. Naturopathic care is only offered in CT. Nursing  health consults are available in NY.
