Test, test, test before you switch to a gluten-free diet. Once diagnosed, switch to a gluten-free and I recommend grain-free diet for faster healing. Researchers say that the gut heals faster from heroin addiction (3 years) than from gluten enteropathy (5 years). Avoiding grains heals the gut and prevents further complications from grain intolerance.
Once allergens are diagnosed, we create an emergency treatment plan for acute episodes after accidental exposures. If an infant presents with food allergy symptoms during exclusive breastfeeding then mom has to follow a maternal elimination diet and correct her underlying dysbiosis of her intestinal microbiome. I remove her allergens and have her take GOOD GUT Probiotics + immune and GOOD GUT Repair. I recommend Xymogen's HistDao for added protection and a specialized probiotics for infants from Klaire Labs that you can order from Emerson Ecologics through our virtual pharmacy. Probiotics modulate the immune system and help to prevent allergic conditions like atopic dermatitis.
Have a Happy Gluten Free Halloween!
