Oxytocin, the love hormone, has shown great promise with several mood disorders.

Now it may be useful for anorexia nervosa. Korean researchers found that oxytocin changed perceptions of body shape and negative emotions in patients with anorexia.  This is exciting news because there has not been effective medication treatments for anorexia.  Individuals with anorexia nervosa have abnormally low levels and low functioning oxytocin.  Anorexics upon imaging show shrunken, starved and stressed brains. Oxytocin reduces stress and increases brain plasticity.

Researchers don't know exactly how oxytocin works, but they think it reduces neuroinflammation and relieves centralized pain and mood disorders.  A single dose of nasal spray of oxytocin enhanced brain activity in children with autism spectrum disorder temporarily improved social information processing.  Nasal sprays of oxytocin enhanced the recognition of facial expressions and shifted negative to POSITIVE  information in women with borderline personality disorders.Oxytocin was used successfully in women with post-partum depression.

Best of all it's safe. Oxytocin is the legal feel good hormone.

Oxytocin reduced weight gain in post-menopausal women and gave added bone protection. Call us to discuss your oxytocin needs.  We supply our patients with the best products.  Sublingual or nasal spray available.
