Tick Born Illness

Lyme disease is associated with insomnia and other neuroinflammatory conditions.

Insomnia may be the most debilitating of the Lyme symptoms at times. It exacerbates inflammation and creates other symptoms, such as brain fog, depression and pain. (CITATION HERE) People with Lyme commonly experience inverted sleep-wake cycles with high levels of nighttime cortisol and low daytime cortisol.

Not getting enough sleep can also suppress immune function and make it difficult for the body to heal. A good place to start when dealing with insomnia is diet. We can take a look at your diet and also see if there is a possible gluten intolerance or allergy causing more inflammation and adding to insomnia.

We offer comprehensive neuroendocrine tests in CT. that pinpoint amino acid levels, oxidative stress and stress hormones so that we can implement strategic treatment protocols for your sleep issues.
Sleep is incredibly important and excessive loss can lead to things like brain atrophy. If you are suffering from insomnia we can discuss the best way for you to tackle it and finally get the good night's sleep you deserve.
Standard treatment for Lyme Disease are antibiotics such as doxycycline and amoxicillin. However; Lyme lingers. Individuals may experience long-term effects following exposure to Lyme. There is even a name for it, "Post-Treatment Lyme Disease Syndrome" or PTLDS. After exposure and antibiotic treatment, patients may experience musculoskeletal and cognitive complaints along with fatigue. A subset of patients who have PTLDS will have symptoms that continue on past 6 months. These patients have "Chronic Lyme Disease". Controversy regarding treatment continues as the use of multiple rounds of antibiotics are typically not recommended.
We test and treat Lyme and co-infections.  Ozone Therapy is a safe and effective treatment for Lyme and co-infections.  Let's discuss which Lyme test is the best test for you. You have testing choices and treatment options. All ozone therapies are MD ordered and RN administered in NYS.
