Artificial Sweeteners - Not so Sweet - HCG Diet

Artificial sweeteners are anything but sweet!

Artificial sweeteners are commonly used in food and drinks and a recent study found that they are toxic to digestive gut microbes. The study published in the journal Molecules reported that six common artificial sweeteners, that are FDA approved and 10 sport supplements that contained them, were found to be toxic to the digestive microbes of mice.

The research team from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Israel and Nanyang Technological University in Singapore tested the toxicity of aspartame, sucralose, saccharine, neoime, advantame and acesulfame potassium-k. They found that when exposed to only 1mg per ml of the artificial sweeteners, the bacteria in the digestive system became toxic.

"This is further evidence that consumption of artificial sweeteners adversely affects gut microbial activity which can cause a wide range of health issues," Ariel Kushmaro, a professor in BGU's department of biotechnology engineering said.

The sweeteners can cause health problems such as inducing glucose intolerance or even cause the concentrations of several fatty acids, lipids and cholesterol to elevate in mice treated with neotame.

Researchers in previous studies found that all of the artificial sweeteners disturbed blood sugar levels despite the fact that these sweeteners are not digested or absorbed by the human body.

In addition, low-calorie sweetener consumption was associated with up to 2.5-fold over expression of the sweet taste receptor TAS1R3. Sweet taste receptors are G protein–coupled receptors that are present in taste buds and in other tissues, serving as carbohydrate sensors. Adipogenic genes were also over expressed; a 1.5- to 2.4-fold increase was seen in PPARG, for example.

Artificial sweeteners make you fat!

Come in and test your blood sugar levels. If you are struggling with your weight or just want help being the healthiest you, we understand your dietary and nutritional needs.

We offer the HCG diet. It is a safe, natural and effective way to not only help you shed the pounds but to get your diet cleaned up and start you on the right path to eating healthy and feeling good.

The HCG diet improves glucose homeostasis and increases expendable energy. HCG allows the body to sculpt and reduce abnormal fat stores under the arm, belly, buttock and inner thigh without giving you that sunken cheek look.

The HCG diet is the original anti-inflammatory diet so patients report the elimination of joint pain, more energy and we see normal blood glucose levels and better lipid profiles. We see both men and women for HCG weight loss.  We offer a hands-on program to guide you through every day. We offer additional medicines to eliminate weight loss barriers. Book your HCG consult this week.

The brain does regulate eating and most obese individuals have micro scarring on their hypothalamus which creates a dysregulation.  The HCG diet goes around this impairment in the hypothalamic tract and corrects issues in the dicenphalon so that you can experience normal metabolic regulation. You feel full and don't crave carbs. Ask me about the HCG diet and find out if it's right for you.  On average, our patients lose between 25 and 35 pounds in 40 days.
