Women over Fifty - Get Chelated for Arthritis

I was beginning to feel like I was wearing these shoes and I was scared. No, I didn't just attend a heavy metal reunion concert. My hips were cranky and I was worried that I was coming out of remission from my diagnosis of psoriatic arthritis of seven years. I was entering perimenopause and I know that grand hormonal shifts cause menopausal tendonitis and other assorted musculoskeletal conditions. Low estrogen and progesterone affect muscles, bones, ligaments, cartilage and joint capsules.

Then I remembered to re-test myself for my heavy metal load. My highest lead level was 50 in 2004. I chelated and brought everything down into normal range and have re-tested every year since. Re-testing was key as well as the timing.

Women significantly download their total body burden at two times in their life

The first is in pregnancy where all sequestered toxins go to the developing baby so nobody comes out clean. That is why I stress with religious fervor about detoxing conception couples before getting pregnant.

The second time is in peri-menopause and menopause. Estrogen protects the bones and when it plummets you lose the protection. We begin to demineralize. It's worse with a acid based diet. So that cup of coffee that I have grown to love after 50 was adding to my demineralization. Don't forget that women now spend more time alive past their child-bearing years.

Lead comes out of trabecular and cortical bone into the bloodstream where it can cause inflammatory responses. My lead levels in tissue storage jumped up to 38.  That was the reason I was experiencing hip and joint pain. Natural anti-inflammatories calmed the situation, but the responses persisted. I changed my diet, reduced my circuit schedule at the gym and still had discomfort.

I am now a happy chelating camper again. It's miraculous. The hip and joint pain went away completely after three days of chelation. I'll stay the course and continue the recommended three months of chelation before re-testing.

Arthritis is not a function of age. You're never too old to chelate and reap the benefits of truly aging gracefully. If you're female, over fifty and have "arthritis", it's time to schedule an environmental work-up. Make your next 50 years your best years.
