Europe pulled cancer causing implants from market.
A recall of Allergan textured implants comes after French authorities announced they had withdrawn approval for their sale in Europe. The implants have been linked to a rare form of breast cancer.
The implants have a roughened surface and are linked to a rare cancer of the immune system called anaplastic large cell lymphoma and have sparked a global investigation that led to Europe's move to withdraw them.
There was an investigation and lawsuit in the US in the 90's which temporarily pulled implants from the market and then the findings were buried.
France's national agency for the safety of medicines and health products issued a statement that it was suspending the CE (Conformité Européenne) safety approval for Allergan's Microcell and Biocell products. The implants cannot be manufactured or sold in Europe. Surgeons were advised last month to stop using the implants.
"French authorities said they had not “identified any immediate risk for the health of women carrying the implants concerned”, and the statement did not mention ALCL. However, there is growing concern about the link with the cancer, with figures collected by plastic surgeons suggesting there have been at least 615 cases of the disease associated with breast implants and 16 deaths." The cancer forms in the scar capsule around the implant and normally begins with pain and swelling in the breast. Women who have the implants and capsules removed can make a full recovery. If left untreated it can spread throughout the body and become life-threatening.

This link only calls attention to the idea of inserting foreign bodies or material in our bodies with potential repercussions. Since over 10 million women worldwide have breast implants we need to discuss body image and self-esteem issues.
Don't look to the US FDA to warn the American public because they won't. They get too much money turning a blind eye to genetically engineered foods, vaccines, pesticides, insecticides, dangerous pharmaceuticals, etc.
