Steroid Injections Not Effective Long Term - What is the solution?

[fa icon="calendar'] Nov 20, 2015 6:02:42 AM / by Dr. Isadora Guggenheim

As we age, our ligaments, cartilage and joint capsules change because of low hormones, poor gut function and generalized demineralization. Steroid injections were touted for years as the panacea for many joint problems, but a recent National Institutes of Health study found there were no significant pain differences between patients who received steroid injections every 12 weeks over 2 years and those who got placebo injections.

And on the Cartilage Damage Index steroids only had a 1% advantage that was classifed as "uncertain clinical significance." Why use steroid treatments that do not have a major effect on the joint structure and potentially can cause joint atrophy?
Inflammation is present in joints of people with osteoarthritis and inflammation predicts structural damage progression. I highly recommend DFH's Inflammatone and ArthroSoothe for joint inflammation. I have used these oral medications with great clinical success.
Order DFH

When you have structural progression with moderate to severe pain it is more effective to get a series of intra-articular prolozone injections to permanently address tissue damage. Prolozone is more effective because it delivers critical vitamins, minerals, hydration, homeopathics and ozone into the affected areas.

We give generous treatments into all of the large joints - hips, knees, shoulders and ankles. The first set of injections focuses on reducing inflammation and pain. Most patients are pain-free after the first injections. They may experience some joint stiffness that wears off within 48 hours. Range of motion dramatically improves. I recommend that you get a second series of injections two weeks later with a different formula that rebuilds structural tissues.

Don't live with pain. Stop hobbling around. I tell patients that suffering is over-rated. Start living your pain-free life with prolozone injections. Get your joints in shape for the Holiday season.
