HCG Diet: Emerging Butterfly- Part 3

Winter's HCG diet recap and take away.Hey everyone! It's Winter, I'm just finishing up my 40 Day HCG cycle and wanted to to finish this mini blog series about my experience.

For starters, I feel amazing. A couple weeks ago I jokingly asked a friend if I looked skinny and they said  "no, you look happy". I lost just about 30 pounds, but that's not all this has given me. I feel so confident again, I look in the mirror and see my own face and not a blown up version of it. My jeans (two sizes smaller) fit me, everything fits me. 

I didn't do the HCG diet and magically shrink to a tooth pick. It jump started me to a healthy happy weight. It also changed the entire way I think about food. The diet made me realize how much I was eating without thinking twice about it. When you are forced to say no to certain things you might feel like you are missing out, but once you realize you didn't even want it, you realize how often this happens. 

It's shown me how much self control I really do have and I'm proud of myself for conquering the diet and my weight.

This diet taught me about portion control. I've gotten so used to what 3.5 oz of meat should look like that I can almost eyeball it. I know what a portion of food should look like and I will think twice before over-eating.

Salad actually tastes really good with red wine vinegar and heavy dressing is not needed. I will definitely be ditching the ranch from now on. 

Eating so cleanly also taught me how sick and gross processed, greasy, and fatty foods used to make me feel. Being dairy free also taught me that black coffee is really good once you get used to it and I will never put heavy cream, sugar or any of the processed flavorings from Dunkin' in my coffee again.

Green tea is your best weight loss friend. I found a brand that brews cold and plopped them in water bottles all day. Green tea is so good for you along with it's weight loss benefits.

Also, sometimes on the HCG diet you have to get a little creative to keep from "bored cheating". My favorite new snack has become a sliced apple with stevia and cinnamon. I sprinkle one pack of stevia and a little cinnamon on peeled apple slices.

If you want a cool desert type feel to your apple, peel it and cut it into cubes and place in a bowl. Sprinkle the stevia and as much cinnamon as you like on the apple cubes and mix them around. Microwave the apples for about a minute and a half or until they are all soft. Tastes almost like apple pie. This is a snack I will continue to enjoy after.
